The Center for Adolescent Literacies is conducting a workshop for Boys & Girls Club of Greater Charlotte staff on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Marsh Road Boys & Girls Club. The workshop, Helping Kids Succeed: Engaging and Supporting Learning Outside of School, is designed to provide tools to staff of the Boys & Girls Club who with with children in after-school and summer programs. Topics will include:
- Improving reading comprehension
- Supporting vocabulary learning
- Utilizing writing-to-learn strategies
- Fostering motivation and engagement
