This professional development session focuses on the multiplicity of recent and emerging Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) and Web 2.0 tools. While these tools have tremendous potential for teaching, learning and collaboration, teachers and schools with limited financial and technological resources can find them difficult to fully implement. We provide strategies and examples for replicating critical pedagogical aspects of ICTs and Web 2.0 across classrooms with varying levels of resources. Further, we outline a process that practitioners can use to adapt and transform the ever-changing landscape of ICTs and Web 2.0 tools to their classrooms.
- Shifting Your Instruction. Ways for teachers to incorporate technology and Web 2.0 into their lessons.
- Shifting Your Students' Presentations. Tools for student presentations, portfolios and products.
- Shifting Group Work to Technology Collaboration. Using technology and Web 2.0 to facilitate communication and collaboration in group work.
- Adapting and Transforming Tech Tools. A process by which teachers can use to adapt future tools they come across.
